Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro 1 Palette Review

I picked up this palette recently and have been trying different looks for the past few weeks to let you guys know what I think of it. I picked it up as I just seem unable to resist a product that there's hype around; I can't help it, I want to know what all the fuss is about! I'd heard from a few other bloggers that this palette was a dupe of the Lorac Pro Palette which I have wanted to try for ages but I just can't bear to part with the pennies, so I thought I'd give this one a go instead.

Shades (left to right)

Ghost, Luna, Must, Enigma, Fade, Drama, Afflicted, Pitch
Need, Dawn, Getter, Breathe, Too Grey, Stage, Addicted, Player

So what do I think of the palette?

Overall I'm very impressed. For the very reasonable £6.99 price tag I'd say it's definitely worth it. You get 16 lovely wearable shades and what I love is the fact that there's 8 matte shades and 8 shimmery, so there's something for everybody depending on what you prefer to wear. It's packaged well and comes with a big mirror (bonus) and a double sided eye-shadow brush (double bonus). I don't really use the brush it comes with as I opt for my trusty Real Techniques brushes instead, but I have used it and it's not to shabby at all and handy for travelling too.

As for the shadows, I'd say they're pretty darn good. Of course, they aren't as buttery soft and pigmented as high end shadows, say like the ones in the Urban Decay Naked Palette, but for the price you can't complain. As they are on the powdery side it does make them that little bit harder to work with, but if you take the time to blend they can look great. There's also a nice mix of darker and lighter shades so the palette can definitely be used for both everyday looks and more smoky evening looks. I particularly love the copper shade 'stage' as I find it's really lovely on blue eyes and really makes them stand out.

As you can see from the above (bad quality, sorry!) picture, they aren't the most pigmented shadows. With the paler shades especially, you may have to pack a fair bit onto the lid for your desired effect. I personally love the paler shades (such as ghost and luna) as under the brow highlight, and find these work great for that and also at brightening the inner corner of the eye too.

If you're after a more pigmented yet affordable palette from the high-street that can create both bold and also natural looks, I'd say maybe opt for a Sleek palette instead, such as Sleek's storm palette. However, if you're a neutrals person, I certainly don't think you'd be disappointed with this one.

Have you tried this palette?

Escada Turquoise Summer

Hi guys! I picked up this delightful perfume recently and it has quickly become one of my favourite summer scents. I hadn't heard of this perfume, in fact I hadn't even heard of Escada, before a customer in the shop I work at sprayed it and I was instantly transported to a beach or a summer barbecue. I sell perfumes as a job and honestly, this has to be one of my favourites out of all I've tried (even if my favourites list is rather long).

I'm a firm believer that everyone has their own preferences when it comes to perfume, as they say one man's trash is another man's treasure, but for me this perfume is a hidden gem. I've been loving wearing it and for me it just works. If you like fruity, sweet scents this might be a great one for you too!

It is branded as a 'playful fruity sorbet of wild red fruits – a fragrance that will open the world to summer. The edible fruity sensation provided by the Tutti Frutti note is intensified by a joyful cocktail of berries in the fragrance - strawberry combined with juicy raspberry and acidulous blackcurrant. The intense fruitiness is balanced by the sensual creaminess of vanilla and smooth sandalwood.'

Warning: this may make you want to drink it, but that's probably (definitely) not a good idea... and neither is spraying it in your eye (yep... may or may not have done that... I did).

I wasn't originally the biggest fan of the bottle but it's grown on me and fits nicely onto my dressing table. I think the blue ombre effect of the bottle captures the 'summery' aspect of the fragrance perfectly. You could almost grab a lilo and just float on the top of it.

Being an Eau De Toilette the staying power is not amazing but it lingers enough to only need respritzing once every few hours. It's definitely not as long lasting as other perfumes I own, but for a light, everyday scent, I find it's great.

If you're after a scent that's gonna stick around all day and turn heads (or noses) as you walk down the street, this might not be the one for you.

This doesn't replace Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess as my favourite summer scent, or just my favourite scent period, but I really have been loving it and have had compliments on it too.

If this perfume seems like something you would like, I would get your mitts on it now as it is limited edition.

Have you tried this perfume?

Skincare Favourites

Hi guys! So this post is something a little different today. I've teamed up with the lovely Khadija from Sugar Babbles to bring you our skincare favourites. Khadija is a journalist student from Saudi Arabia with a passion for cooking, reading and writing. She has a really wonderful blog and posts all things beauty and fashion; you should all definitely go and check it out!

Now onto the skincare:

My Favourites

1. Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

I use this cleanser every-night to take the bulk of my make-up off. It is an essential step in my skincare routine. I take it on a cotton pad and find it gently dissolves the make-up making it easy to remove, even my dark eye make-up, and without stinging too.

2. Origins GinZing Cleanser

I can't rave about this cleanser enough, it's truly lovely to use and is lovely to my skin.  I take a pea sized amount of this scrub and massage it around my face to gently but effectively exfoliate. I love using this cleanser as it's just so refreshing and smells just darn lovely. Sometimes I find exfoliaters risky as they can dry out the skin but this one doesn't at all.

3. Lush Catastrophe Cosmetic Face Mask

This is the newest addition to my skincare essentials but it's definitely sticking around. I notice such a difference in my skin after using it. Immediately after using it my skin feels soft and revitalized as well visibly reducing redness. After using it several times, I then started to notice the difference in my skin. I found that my make-up went on much smoother and blended easier whilst also lasting longer throughout the day without having to touch up powder. I just wish I'd found this product sooner; I love it.

4. Hydraluron Serum

This product claims that its effects include better hydrated, glowing, plumped up looking skin. In my opinion, I can confirm that indeed it does all of these things. I don't use this product daily, but when I do use it I really notice the difference in the morning. I apply a pea sized amount (which is all you need) of this serum to a freshly washed face before then applying moisturiser. In the morning I can visibly the notice the plumpness; it just makes my skin look and feel healthy. I tend to use this serum on nights when I know I have something significant the next day; it pretty much guarantees a good skin day.

5. Origins Super Spot Remover

Whilst I don't use this all that frequently, I just had include it in my skincare essentials/favourites as I think that if you're looking for a spot treatment, this is a good way to go... a great way actually. I really need to repurchase this soon as I have (eventually) run out... for a teeny bottle it lasts a heck of a long time. That's what's great about this product, the smallest amount does the job. It really is a life saver when I bet a blemish. I love the name too, kind of sound likes a bad ass superhero... just me?

Khadija's Favourites

Hi Loves,
It's so good to be on Kelly's page today and if you can't tell, I am sooo excited! Well, as you can tell by the topic, today's post will be all about my favourite skincare products! So, if you want to know more, just keep reading!

First things first. I make sure I drink plenty of water when I wake up in the morning. It not only keeps my skin clean but also gives me the boost I need.

My skin care routine has been same for many months now. I like to change up some products here and there, but for the most part it is the same.

1- Shiseido Advanced SR cream
I have seen a vast difference ever since I started using this product. It has something magical, I promise, because I don't get break outs! I use this as the first step towards preping my face.

2- Shiseido Super restoring cream
This cream restores as the name suggests. It balances the ph level in the skin and does all kinds of wonders! I love this product!

3- Shiseido Advanced Essential Energy(Body Refining Complex)
This lotion is almost gel like in consistency. It is thick but not greasy. It is absorbed very quickly by the skin.

4- Shiseido Luminizing Lotion
Again, I use this along with the previous lotion. But I use this less often than that one. It has a little bit of luminosity to it, which is not my everyday kind of a thing.

5- Olay Natural White cream (Night time)
I only use this cream during night time. I highly suggest having a night regime as well. Your skin heals it self during night. So its very important to treat it with some good nourishing creams.

6- Whitening Eye Gel from Boots
I am obsessed with this stuff! It really does work! This is my second repurchase. It really whitens the under eye and reduces the appearance of dark circles.

7- EOS lip balm
I always change my lip balm. It really just depends on my mood. Today I used the EOS lip balm in lemon drop. If you wish to read an in-depth review about this product, you may click on my previous post about it here: EOS lip balm Review

So, I guess that's it. I will wrap up my post. If you liked this post then do read my other posts too on http://sugarbabbless.blogspot.com/ Till next time Cya!
