Current Wishlist

1. Weekday Collarless Shirt - £45- ASOS

I'm a real big fan of weekday at the moment and this shirt just does it for me; the fabric, the clean lines, the simplicity. I'd wear this dressed up with jeans, strappy sandals and red lips or dressed down with boots and a jacket thrown over. A very versatile piece I think; right up my street!

2. ShopDixi Night Wall Fiery Labradorite Ring- £26

Not going to lie, I kind of want pretty much every piece ShopDixi has to offer but I've been especially lusting after this Labradorite ring. The pieces on the site are on the pricier side but you get what you pay for I think (its silver so it won't tarnish..woo) I'd love to add this one to my growing collection.

3. NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils- £19 (Cruella)

NARS...matte... long lasting... classic red: need I say more? haha

4.Real Techniques Bold Metal Collection (301 Flat Contour Brush)- £22

I'm a massive fan of Real Techniques, so when these beauties came out they jumped straight on the wishlist. Every time I'm sauntering around boots I always end up in the make up brush isle staring at them-- they're just so pretty. All the brushes look great but I think if I was going to buy one it would be this contour one. (Cheekbones like Angelina here I come)

5. The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon- (currently on sale) £5.99

Supernatural dystopian novel? Sold. I'm in.

6. ASOS Skater Dress- £25

There's just something about this dress I really like. Simple and classic, yet still interesting with the t-shirt overlay. I feel like this dress is a great basic and is perfect for chucking on as a foundation for an outfit; great for when you can't decide what to wear but still want to look put together. I find skater dresses great for pulling you in at the waist, a very flattering fit.

7. Whistles Small Clutch- £40 (pale blue)

I love the simplicity of whistles clutches, so classic and timeless. A whistles clutch has been on my wish list for a long time and there it will remain (at least until I bite the bullet and get one haha). There are many lovely ones to choose from but this shade of blue is one of my favourite colours so I think this one is a winner for me. Very spring/summer appropriate to.

8.Origins GinZing Moisturiser- £23

I love this moisturiser. I really want (neeeed) to repurchase it. As far as moisturisers go, I'd say this is the best out of the ones I've personally tried. It successfully clears up any dry patches and at the same time whenever I use it I just feel refreshed and down right lovely. Plus it smells great too, very vesty.

9.New Look Crepe Duster Coat- £29.99

This coat has been sitting in my ASOS saved items for a while just staring at me. For me, a black coat/ jacket is an absolute staple and the one I've got is years old and rather tatty now (very sad indeed). Coats are my thing; I just love them and feel like they really complete an outfit. I'm quite fussy over which ones I like, but there's something about this one. Well done New Look, I'm very impressed.

What's on your current wishlist?

PS. I'm aware that it is spring and that all the clothes in my wishlist are black but I can't help it! I'm all about the monochrome...all year round. It's a classic *insert sassy girl emoji here* haha! x

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer: the bees knees or simply overrated?

After being on the hunt for a new concealer and hearing ALOT about this bad boy (lol) I gave in to the hype, bit the bullet and bought it. I'm a rather big fan of NARS in general (Sheer Glow Foundation is my Holy Grail) so I did have high expectations of this concealer and I'm happy to say, overall, it did not disappoint.

Overall, I think this is a great concealer. Like the name suggests it's creamy in formula, blends like a dream and sets beautifully; not cakey at all. I'd say it has a medium coverage and I've found it works better for me as an under eye concealer rather than one to cover pesky blemishes, although I do use it for both. I've been testing it for a while and have found it to be long lasting which gives it some more brownie points. The only downfall of this product that I've found is that it dries out quicker than I expected for the hefty price tag. Whilst I do love it, I just wish it would live a little longer and also think it wouldn't hurt to get a little more product for the price.

I believe this concealer to be comparable to the collection Lasting Perfection concealer which I have been using for years. If you're looking for a dupe of this concealer I'd definitely recommend hitting up Boots or Superdrug and purchasing it (if you haven't already) and for only £4.19 as well- bargain.
I'd say the Collection concealer is not as creamy and can have a tendency to be cakey- but if you blend it well and get a good colour match, you're good to go!

However, what edges the NARS concealer to the finish line is the wide range of colours available; it has 10 shades available in comparison to collection which has only 4 (so is probably not a perfect match for everyone). My shade in the NARS concealer is Vanilla which is a great match for me and as for the Collection concealer, I vary from Fair  to Cool Medium; I often blend to two together.

Whilst I have thoroughly enjoyed using NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, because of the price tag I don't know whether I would necessarily run out and re-purchase it straight away when there are concealers I love just as much available on the high street, such as the Collection Lasting Perfection and also the Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer which is another of my all time faves. However, I would still recommend it and will most likely repurchase in the future.

What do you think of this concealer? Have you tried it? x

(NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer  purchased from Selfridges £21)

AC for AG

With her book it becoming a top ten bestseller last year, model and journalist turned author Alexa Chung continues to take the fashion world by storm. Better yet; she has it in the palm of her hand and has us all eagerly wanting to take whatever she has to offer out of it (myself included). This fashion muse has launched a new 20 piece clothing range in collaboration with AG, designed and modelled by the icon herself. Before I even saw the collection I may or may not have (I did) had the thought I want it all, because let’s face it, the girl knows how to dress. It was bound to be love at first browse.

Anyway, on to the clothes. A promotional video for the collection courtesy of mytheresa.com, where Alexa herself takes on the Stevie Nicks classic pretty much sums it up: ‘bright eyes, blue denim’ (is there anything this girl can’t do?) The collection has a mix of blue denim pieces to take your pick from and an array of relaxed plain tees and jumpers that will help you ultimately perfect that effortless chic style that Alexa nails.

My personal favourite of the collection is the New Wave Sweatshirt, available in grey and white. Styled by Alexa, the jumper looks relaxed and effortlessly cool. If I had the money ( this jumper will set you back a steep £145) I’d be rocking up to lectures in it looking like a casual goddess- a girl can dream right?

The other pieces in the collection range from dungarees to denim dresses, button down miniskirts to skinny jeans; a.k.a something new to lust after. The pieces are ‘inspired by a late sixties, early seventies aesthetic’ Alexa told Women’s Wear Daily but I believe it also manages to have a slightly nostalgic 90s vibe with the button down denim. AC for AG might not be for everyone, but if you have an effortless, laidback but still cool style (and a large budget) maybe this is the one for you. Would you revamp your wardrobe with Alexa’s dream denim collection? Could this be the start of something new for Alexa? (no High-School Musical pun intended).
