Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette Review

Hi guys,

I recently purchased this highlighting palette from Sleek in 'Solstice' and after trying it for a while, can confirm that I love it. I just had to share it with you guys in case you were in the market for a lovely new highlighter... or four.

Not going to lie, this purchase was almost fully enabled by Sam from Pixiwoo who used it in one of her recent tutorials, as it looked amazing on her. I was in the market for a highlighter anyway, and when I saw this palette I was sold. I couldn't tell whether it was because of the fact that there were four products in the palette that looked beautiful, or because the palette was just so nice to look at on the outside too that made me want to buy it, but I was sold non-the-less and had high expectations from how I'd seen it looked on Sam.

So after purchasing it and delving in I was not disappointed. Yes the packaging is beautiful and definitely a bonus to the product, the gold mirrored packaging reflecting light almost as well as the products themselves...and being a magnet for fingerprints...but easily cleaned so its all good.. I stand by and support that all of these four products are just really lovely highlighters. 

As a make-up buff, I felt like highlight was my weak point. I have had a few other ones over the past couple of years, both powders and creams, and have tried to make them work so that they had the effect I always see on other people and in photos but somehow it just wasn't working for me. For me, this has revolutionised that and I can finally see what all the fuss is about.

The four shades from left to right are:

 Ecliptic: champagne cream highlight

Subsolar: yellow-y powder highlight

Hemisphere: lilac/pink baked powder highlight

Equinox: golden baked powder highlight

These shades are so pigmented too. As you can see in the image above, they really do their job and a little goes a long way.

Anddd even better, I've also found these products to be multi-purpose. I particularly have been loving the cream shade Ecliptic as an eye-shadow base and for using under the brow, and it blends like a dream. I'd say I have been reaching for the two baked shades of hemisphere and equinox for the top of my cheekbones the most although I stand by that every product in the palette gives a lovely highlight.

This palette comes in at £9.99 and for me it's totally worth it. If you're in the market for a new highlighter, I couldn't recommend it more. It does come with a brush and I have attempted to use it, but the bristles are far to hard and the brush deposits the highlight in more of a stripe than an even blend, so I wouldn't recommend it. But as for the products, they even feel high- end quality to me.

Jo Malone: Wood Sage and Sea Salt

I very (very) gladly received this bottle of heaven for Christmas this year and it was a 'I'm in love, I'm in love, and I don't care who knows it' moment (10 points to you if you know what's that from). I'm a fairly new Jo Malone fan and I honestly don't know what I've been doing with my life until now...it's that dramatic. I actually sell perfume as my job so I'm familiar with the lot but honestly to me, Jo Malone fragrances are just something else. I can't put my finger on it exactly but to me they just smell earthy in a way, if that makes any sense. I think because the fragrances are candles too, they're just in a different spectrum than most fragrances.

I was shopping around a few months ago, sauntering around Selfridges... as you do, when I was finally pushed by the countless great things I'd heard about Jo Malone fragrances, to go and have a whiff of the scents. I tried so many and honestly so many were lovely, I couldn't decide which was my favourite; there's just loads to choose from, from fresh to floral to musky scents.

I sprayed a few of my favourites onto some blotters and one on each wrist, popped them in my bag and went on my way. I'm definitely glad I tried them on my skin as by doing it I noticed how long-lasting they seemed. I kept smelling them on my skin and just found myself loving them more and more, this fragrance particularly as it settled. 

Coming back to my shopping where I had put the blotters much later in the day, when I took the clothes out, they all smelt of one fragrance over all of the others and it,and therefore my clothes, now smelt divine. I found the blotter that smelt like my clothes did and knew that I was just gonna have to have this in my life, it just smelt so good and it was strong enough to even make my clothes smell from the blotter. Only, I didn't know which one it was. (I don't know why this post is turning into some kind of bad mystery novel but I'll just role with it)

So yeah, I returned to Selfridges a couple of weeks later and went on a major mission to find this heavenly scent. Lo and Behold, I found that it was Wood Sage and Sea Salt. Of course, fragrance is down to personal preference but I seriously do love this one.

Rightly named, this is a woody fragrance with top notes of ambrette seeds, heart notes of sea salt and the base note of sage;it may not be up your street if you usually wear sweet scents but if you like fresh but woody scents this could be the one for you. Jo Malone doesn't come cheap, with this fragrance being £42 for 30ml and £85 for 100ml but for a luxury brand and a darn tootin (yep, I'm Billy Rae Cyrus apparently) lovely fragrance, you arguably get what you pay for. The fragrances seem to be fairly long lasting too, the scent remained on the blotter and my clothes for days as well, but I'm yet to really test how long it lasts on my skin, so I'll keep you updated.

The packaging and presentation is just lovely too, so luxurious and fancy. They make such lovely gifts for someone... or for yourself.

If you haven't already, I'd recommend giving these Jo Malone Colognes a try if you're in the market for a new scent. There's such a big range that I really think there is something for everyone.

A Whole Lotta' Soap and Glory

So the other day when I sauntered into Boots to pick up some make-up that had run out, (all at once as well- why does that always happen??) I found myself automatically walking over to the Soap and Glory stand. Whilst I love trying new brands and new products, I find myself always going back to the Soap and Glory products as I know I love them. So yeah, today's post is a little bit of a brand lovin' one I guess, as going through my make-up stash and the stuff I use on a daily basis, I realised how much of it is actually from Soap and Glory and how many of their products are my holy grail products that I can't go a day without. As a brand,I thought it deserved this honorary mention and I thought I'd share a few of my favourite products with you from one of my favourite brands.

As a drug-store brand it is on the more pricey side but in my opinion, you get what you pay for and in Boots with a 3 for 2 deal, it works out much cheaper and your bank account will thank you for it. If you aren't familiar with the brand I'd say a lot of their stuff is around the £10 mark, so still not too bad really for the great quality. All around it's a great brand both for make-up and their skincare (which I'd recommend checking out too if you haven't already... their stuff smells divine). Their packaging is cool too, interesting and quirky without being tacky. So yeah, onto the products.

Supercat Liquid Eye-Liner

I use this eye-liner everyday without fail and have repurchased it a looot of times. I've tried other ones but for me nothing compares to it.

I'm a fan of 'felt tip' liners on the whole as they're just so quick and easy to use but what I like about this particular one is the formula. I've tried other felt tip liners such as a very similar one from Collection but I found it to be too watery and the liner transferred onto the lid after a while which did my nut in. I don't have that problem with the Supercat liner, it dries really quickly and does not budge all day until the end of the night when I remove all my makeup.

This liner comes in a £6 and I get it in the colour Carbon Black.

Archery Brow Tint and Pencil

This is, again, something I use daily in my make-up routine. What I love about it is how easy it is to use and how well it actually works at doing my eyebrows and framing my face. It's double sided and can be used separately if wanted which I have done before, but for the best results I use the tint to outline the shape and then follow with the pencil to fill in my brows.

The pencil is waxy so almost eliminates the risk of making the brows too dark and fake looking; you can still get a natural looking brow with this product which is what I personally prefer. I've not used anything else to do my brows since I started using this, I'm not sure I could now. It's a light enough formula to be able to perfect any mishaps but it still stays on, like the eye-liner, until I remove my make-up at night.

This product comes in at £10 and I use the colour Brownie Points, although there is a lighter colour available too.

Kick Ass Concealer Kit

I repurchased this nifty little concealer trio in a 3 for 2 deal the other day and am so glad I did. I've had this a couple of times now and it remains one of my favourite concealers period. I particularly like the 'under the eye' concealer and find it really brightens and covers the 'ol dark circles after one too many glasses of wine and late nights thinking I look cool doing the robot in the club (I don't).

The blemish concealer is good too but it's not the best at covering redness. I'm not sure it replaces my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer as my fave for covering pesky blemishes as I'd say that has more coverage than the one in this kit.

At first I dismissed the setting powder in the kit to be like a free brush that comes with a product that doesn't really get used, however, after trying it I realised how good it actually is. I notice the difference in my skin after using it. It perfects it in a way that mattifies the skin yet gives it this lovely glow at the same time.

This concealer comes in at £10 and I use have it in 'light'.

One Heck Of A Blot Powder



This powder does exactly what it says on the tin.Literally. It claims to be 'a super translucent mattifying powder' and indeed it is. What I absolutely love about this powder is the velvety finish it gives. It makes you feel like you're not wearing anything on the skin but still manages to keep the skin matte without looking at all cakey.

 When I apply this in the morning my skin stays shine free near enough all day, however if I did need to touch up, it comes with a sponge and a generous mirror too which is a bonus.

This powder comes in at £12 and in my opinion it is totally worth it.

Suitable for all skin types.

Solar Powder Bronzer



I used to use this bronzer years ago and for some reason have only just repurchased it now. I'm glad I did because it's reminded me how good it actually is. What I love about it is how natural it is for a bronzer; for me it never really gets to that point where you've applied too much and it never looks orangey on the skin. It gives a really natural, subtle bronzed look that makes it great for everyday use.

It's branded as a 2-in-1 bronzer and highlighter duo but I prefer to just swirl it all together personally, as I don't find the highlighter to be that glowy. I still reach for my trusty NARS Laguna for a more defined look if that's what I'm going for, as this bronzer is a light shade so is not the best for defining and contouring the face.

It comes in at £11 and like the powder, has a generous sized mirror which makes it good for on the go.

Peach Party Blush 

I tend to reach for this shimmer brick when I want a more fancy make-up look and find this really just finishes the look off and makes my skin look dewy and full of life. I love peach toned products and was delighted when I received this as a gift. 

It has darker and lighter shades within the shimmer brick, so you can either use the lighter shade a highlight which works well or just swirl it all together and pop it on the apples of the cheeks for a sun-kissed glowy look. 

It's on the pricey side for a blush at £11 but you get a lot of product and as it is so shimmery, you don't need  to apply a lot at all, so it will last you a long time. Also, as there's different shades it kinda makes it a multi-purpose product that could even be used as an eye shadow if you wish.

Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro 1 Palette Review

I picked up this palette recently and have been trying different looks for the past few weeks to let you guys know what I think of it. I picked it up as I just seem unable to resist a product that there's hype around; I can't help it, I want to know what all the fuss is about! I'd heard from a few other bloggers that this palette was a dupe of the Lorac Pro Palette which I have wanted to try for ages but I just can't bear to part with the pennies, so I thought I'd give this one a go instead.

Need, Dawn, Getter, Breathe, Too Grey, Stage, Addicted, Player

So what do I think of the palette?

Overall I'm very impressed. For the very reasonable £6.99 price tag I'd say it's definitely worth it. You get 16 lovely wearable shades and what I love is the fact that there's 8 matte shades and 8 shimmery, so there's something for everybody depending on what you prefer to wear. It's packaged well and comes with a big mirror (bonus) and a double sided eye-shadow brush (double bonus). I don't really use the brush it comes with as I opt for my trusty Real Techniques brushes instead, but I have used it and it's not to shabby at all and handy for travelling too.

As for the shadows, I'd say they're pretty darn good. Of course, they aren't as buttery soft and pigmented as high end shadows, say like the ones in the Urban Decay Naked Palette, but for the price you can't complain. As they are on the powdery side it does make them that little bit harder to work with, but if you take the time to blend they can look great. There's also a nice mix of darker and lighter shades so the palette can definitely be used for both everyday looks and more smoky evening looks. I particularly love the copper shade 'stage' as I find it's really lovely on blue eyes and really makes them stand out.

As you can see from the above (bad quality, sorry!) picture, they aren't the most pigmented shadows. With the paler shades especially, you may have to pack a fair bit onto the lid for your desired effect. I personally love the paler shades (such as ghost and luna) as under the brow highlight, and find these work great for that and also at brightening the inner corner of the eye too.

If you're after a more pigmented yet affordable palette from the high-street that can create both bold and also natural looks, I'd say maybe opt for a Sleek palette instead, such as Sleek's storm palette. However, if you're a neutrals person, I certainly don't think you'd be disappointed with this one.

Escada Turquoise Summer

Hi guys! I picked up this delightful perfume recently and it has quickly become one of my favourite summer scents. I hadn't heard of this perfume, in fact I hadn't even heard of Escada, before a customer in the shop I work at sprayed it and I was instantly transported to a beach or a summer barbecue. I sell perfumes as a job and honestly, this has to be one of my favourites out of all I've tried (even if my favourites list is rather long).  

I'm a firm believer that everyone has their own preferences when it comes to perfume, as they say one man's trash is another man's treasure, but for me this perfume is a hidden gem. I've been loving wearing it and for me it just works. If you like fruity, sweet scents this might be a great one for you too!

It is branded as a 'playful fruity sorbet of wild red fruits – a fragrance that will open the world to summer. The edible fruity sensation provided by the Tutti Frutti note is intensified by a joyful cocktail of berries in the fragrance - strawberry combined with juicy raspberry and acidulous blackcurrant. The intense fruitiness is balanced by the sensual creaminess of vanilla and smooth sandalwood.' 

Warning: this may make you want to drink it, but that's probably (definitely) not a good idea... and neither is spraying it in your eye (yep... may or may not have done that... I did).

I wasn't originally the biggest fan of the bottle but it's grown on me and fits nicely onto my dressing table. I think the blue ombre effect of the bottle captures the 'summery' aspect of the fragrance perfectly. You could almost grab a lilo and just float on the top of it.

Being an Eau De Toilette the staying power is not amazing but it lingers enough to only need respritzing once every few hours. It's definitely not as long lasting as other perfumes I own, but for a light, everyday scent, I find it's great. 

If you're after a scent that's gonna stick around all day and turn heads (or noses) as you walk down the street, this might not be the one for you.

This doesn't replace Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess as my favourite summer scent, or just my favourite scent period, but I really have been loving it and have had compliments on it too. 

If this perfume seems like something you would like, I would get your mitts on it now as it is limited edition.

MAC Lipsticks

 Hi Lovelies! So this post was first going to be a 'Top 5 MAC Lipsticks' post but then I realised I actually only own 6 so I guess its more of MAC lipstick collection (although I do love them all so I guess it could be a top 6 MAC lipsticks post; anyway, you get the idea). Hope you enjoy and if you're on the lookout for a new MAC lipstick I'd probably recommend all of these. I don't have too many as I have plenty of lipsticks from the drug-store that I love just as much.However, what's great about 

MAC is the wide range of colours and also finishes available; there's something for everyone. 

Left to right: Fast Play, Costa Chic, See Sheer, Russian Red, Rebel and Dark Side.

Fast Play

Finish : Amplified

Fast Play is the only MAC lipstick I've got on a whim; every other time I've gone into the store with the intention to purchase a lipstick, I've been sure which one I want to try. I had a 'Back to MAC' and wasn't sure which lipstick I wanted at the time, so after swatching a few testers I opted for this and I'm so glad I did. It's a really lovely mauvy nude and it just works with my skin tone. I don't wear nudes all that often, but if I do I reach for this one fo'sure. I've found myself reaching for this one more and more recently. It's a really creamy thick formula; not at all drying which is fab.

Costa Chic

Finish: Frost

Costa Chic is one of my go-to summer shades; it's a lovely bright coral colour that is very pigmented. If applied straight from the bullet it can be very bright, which is great if that's what you're after but I personally like to smudge it in with a lip brush or my finger for a more subtle coral shade. The frost formula is not as creamy as amplified but I find does last that bit longer.

See Sheer

Finish: Lustre

Putting it out there... See Sheer might just be one of my all time fav lipsticks (if you couldn't already tell by how much I've used it haha). Orange toned lipsticks are my favourite to wear personally and this is up there with the best I think. The formula is lovely and moisturising, the colour is not too in your face... I just love it. I've worn this most days since I got it and will deffo be repurchasing.

Russian Red

Finish: Matte

If you want that classic red lip, Russain Red is the way to go. It's matte too so it lasts well on the lips. I tend to reach for this for evening events when I want my makeup to be abit more fancy. I do love this shade. However, because it is matte it can be drying at times, but I would personally still choose this over a glossy red lip because it is long lasting. Just moisturise your lips before and you should be good to go.

Rebel

Finish: Satin

I would best describe Rebel as a blackcurrant shade I think; it is truly lovely. I don't tend to use Rebel as much as my other MAC lipsticks because it is a statement lip colour and partly because of the pinky undertone; I just don't think it suits me, but of course that doesn't mean it won't suit you. I still really love this lipstick and the formula is lovely, not at all drying and apply's nicely.

Dark Side

Finish: Amplified

Last but not least is Dark Side. I have to say, this lipstick gets the joint first spot with See Sheer for my favourite MAC lipstick. I absolutely love this shade. I love dark red/ berry lipsticks in general but there is something about this one that I particularly love. This is my go - to shade in winter but the seasons don't stop me from using this all year round. Like Fast Play it's an amplified finish, so is creamy and moisturising which I love. It's not as long lasting as a matte finish but I'll only need to reapply it once or twice.

(I did also own hue-- it was the first MAC lipstick I bought actually but has completely run out. If you're after a lovely classic nude, it might be worth checking that out)

Current Night-time Skincare Routine

Step One

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
I first use the cleansing water on a cotton pad to take off the majority of my make-up; this micellar water works great on eyes to and is not at all harsh on the skin which is great!           

 

Step Two

Vichy Cleansing Milk
I then take another cotton pad and apply a small amount of the cleansing milk to it. I use this to take off the make-up that I missed and to give a more deep cleanse. Again this is really light on the skin, not harsh at all (paraben free to). It is particularly good at getting excess eye make-up off.I then rinse this off with warm water.

Step Three

Origins GinZing Cleanser
I then apply a pea sized amount of this scrub cleanser to a damp face and spread it around my face in circular motions to gently exfoliate. I don't use this every night but at least 3 times a week. It's a gentle exfoliant so it's not too harsh on the skin. This is probably my favourite step of my skincare routine as it's just so refreshing and makes my skin feel down right clean.(thumbs up from me)

Step Four

Origins Super Spot Remover
I only use this when it's needed; a.k.a when I get a pesky blemish. Let me tell you; this really does the job. It really is one of the best spot treatments out there. If I do have a spot I take a very small amount (that's all you need- if you use too much it can be very drying) and apply it to the blemish. You feel it instantly working.

Step Five

The last step alternates throughout the week between these three products, as and when I think my skin need them.

Origins Drink Up Intensive Mask

I use this super hydrating mask maybe once a week, maybe twice if my skin really needs it. Once I have done all the previous steps I will then apply this mask and leave it to sink into the skin overnight. In the morning I will wash the residue (if there is any) off and my skin is always super hydrated and plump. It's great if you know you have something important to attend the next day. I use this mask more as a treatment/ kind of as a treat as well. It smells delish too which is a bonus.





L'Oreal Triple Active Nourish Moisturiser
If I'm not using the mask then the last step in my skincare routine will be this moisturiser (or the next product). I, however, use this one more frequently. It's the newest addition to my skincare routine but so far so good. It's very rich and thick and smells nice to. As far as moisturisers go I don't think it beats my beloved Origins GinZing moisturiser but for the cheap price it's pretty darn good. (£6.49)
* please note - this moisturiser is quite heavily scented so may not be great for sensitive skin.




Origins High-Potency Night-A-Mins
Finally, if I feel like my skin is particularly dry and needs more than a normal moisturiser but doesn't need as intense a treatment as the Origins mask then I opt for this. This is definitely not a moisturiser I would use daily like I would the L'Oreal one but it's a fantastic treatment for de-hydrated skin. It has a thick formula yet manages to sink into the skin well; my skin drinks it up. It smells just lovely to. I use this on average once or twice a week.

( I am kind of a fan-girl when it comes to Origins- if you couldn't already tell)

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer: the bees knees or simply overrated?

 After being on the hunt for a new concealer and hearing ALOT about this bad boy (lol) I gave in to the hype, bit the bullet and bought it. I'm a rather big fan of NARS in general (Sheer Glow Foundation is my Holy Grail) so I did have high expectations of this concealer and I'm happy to say, overall, it did not disappoint.

 Overall, I think this is a great concealer. Like the name suggests it's creamy in formula, blends like a dream and sets beautifully; not cakey at all. I'd say it has a medium coverage and I've found it works better for me as an under eye concealer rather than one to cover pesky blemishes, although I do use it for both. I've been testing it for a while and have found it to be long lasting which gives it some more brownie points. The only downfall of this product that I've found is that it dries out quicker than I expected for the hefty price tag. Whilst I do love it, I just wish it would live a little longer and also think it wouldn't hurt to get a little more product for the price.

 I believe this concealer to be comparable to the collection Lasting Perfection concealer which I have been using for years. If you're looking for a dupe of this concealer I'd definitely recommend hitting up Boots or Superdrug and purchasing it (if you haven't already) and for only £4.19 as well- bargain.

I'd say the Collection concealer is not as creamy and can have a tendency to be cakey- but if you blend it well and get a good colour match, you're good to go!

However, what edges the NARS concealer to the finish line is the wide range of colours available; it has 10 shades available in comparison to collection which has only 4 (so is probably not a perfect match for everyone). My shade in the NARS concealer is Vanilla which is a great match for me and as for the Collection concealer, I vary from Fair  to Cool Medium; I often blend to two together.

Whilst I have thoroughly enjoyed using NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, because of the price tag I don't know whether I would necessarily run out and re-purchase it straight away when there are concealers I love just as much available on the high street, such as the Collection Lasting Perfection and also the Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer which is another of my all time faves. However, I would still recommend it and will most likely repurchase in the future.

Favourite Foundations

(Just a short disclaimer: these foundations are the ones that I have tried and loved and have worked for my skin. Of course, we all have different preferences on coverage's we like and we all have different skin types, but I just thought I'd share some foundations that have worked for me and why I love them. Thanks for reading and enjoy x)

1. Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum

    

As far as drugstore foundations go, this is one of the best I've tried. This was the foundation that converted me back to loving drugstore foundations again; before trying this I think I was definitely a high end foundation girl, despite the price tag. Compared to foundations I've used in the past, there was just no competition I thought, but that was until I tried this. I really love it and I love the £10.99 price tag even more.

I would say its definitely a lighter coverage foundation compared to other ones I use, with a thinner consistency, but I love that about it. You can hardly tell your wearing it when you do, it's very natural and what's also great is it that it doesn't sit heavy on the skin either and has a nice (dewy) finish. As it is a lighter foundation I tend to use this day to day. When I roll out of bed in the morning with not much time until I have to run off to a lecture, I reach for this, knowing that it blends beautifully and that it will make me look alive (haha).

 It's lasting power is okay to, it doesn't last as long as trusty high-end foundations with thicker formulas, (not sure about the 16 hours it claims)but add some concealer and powder and you're good to go. If you're on the lookout for a new 'everyday' drugstore foundation, and particularly if you're someone who doesn't like foundation to be and feel too heavy and likes a dewy finish, I'd definitely recommend this (if you couldn't already tell, haha)

The packaging is not too chic but for the price you can't really complain. Oh, and also this foundation is scented which personally I don't mind, but if you have sensitive skin it might be wise to test before you buy.

2. Nars Sheer Glow

Just gonna put this out there, I think this might be my all time favourite foundation (out of the ones I've tried of course) and definitely my go-to foundation for all occasions. It just works for me and I LOVE it  (it deserves dem capitals). You've probably heard every Tom, Dick and Harry of the beauty/blogging sphere go on about this foundation but honestly I think it deserves it. It's an essential in my makeup collection and has been repurchased many a time and I'm sure will be again in the future.

I would say it has a medium to full coverage but still manages not to look too heavy or cakey and nor does it feel it on the skin which is great. I just love how my skin looks when wearing this and I can tell when it's without it (I'm emotionally attached to this foundation I sense you thinking? haha, I think I might actually be! *sigh* The struggles of being obsessed with makeup).

The staying power is great; if I set it with powder, it lasts all day on me, which gives it another big thumbs up. Another thumbs up goes to the fact that it has no SPF and so is great for special occasions and going out on the town (so you can avoid a ghost face when you know its going to be a snap happy night). I use the shade Deauville and its a perfect match for my skin (even more thumbs up... think I' m running out of thumbs)

It does set me back £31 (I buy it from Selfridges) but it lasts me a long time and is worth it (in my opinion of course). If I use it religiously everyday which I did for a long while it still lasted me ages. (note: if your thinking of buying this foundation the pump doesn't come with it which is poopy but I'd recommend still getting it so product is not wasted when tipping it out on the back of the hand, like I did the first time I bought it). I'd definitely recommend trying this foundation, it's an all rounder and it comes in 19 shades too, so everyone can have a Sheer Glow.

(Tip: This foundation used with the Real Techniques buffing brush is a match made in heaven- I refuse to use anything else haha)

3.Georgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation

This is the newest addition to my foundation family; I've only had it since December but I still feel like it deserves a mention and has steadily made its way up the list of foundations I love. First of all, I love the packaging; it's very luxurious and when I use it I feel very fancy indeed. I don't know why, but because it's so lovely I was expecting not to like it as much as I do, but so far so good. I agree that its has a 'weightless and silky texture' and I love it for that, it's the perfect balance between matte and dewy.

Again, like the Sheer Glow it has no SPF so is great for night outs and special occasions. However, I would say whilst I do love the smooth silky finish, I've found it doesn't have quite as good coverage as Sheer Glow and doesn't cover redness as well as I hoped it would, but paired with concealer and dusted with powder, my base is flawless.

I would still say it's a medium coverage foundation though. It has a lovely naturally flawless finish and blends seamlessly, letting the skin breathe through; not at all cakey. I think this is a brilliant foundation if you want a lightweight foundation that can be built up to flawless coverage that is still natural.

I don't think it's replaced Nars Sheer Glow as my fave but I still love it and it does come with a pump unlike sheer glow which is a perk, plus it comes in 21 shades which is fab.

4. Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude Foundation

This is the newest drugstore addition to my stash. I bought it on a whim in Boots one day to try it out, not expecting to absolutely love it. The first time I used it, it instantly became one of those 'how on earth was I lasting without this before' kind of thing. I haven't had it for too long but I'm loving it so far, it deserves its position in a top spot definitely. As far as drugstore foundations go its great, its up there with the Bourjois foundation, and like the Bourjois foundation I use this day to day at uni/running errands etc. I tend to reach for the Rimmel one when I want more of a full coverage though.

I would say you can definitely feel this more on the skin than the Bourjois one but it blends nicely, doesn't look cakey and is not at all suffocating on the skin. As for lasting power, I wouldn't say it lasts the 25 hours it claims but I don't think any foundation would look the same 25 hours after applying and to be honest I would never wear it for that long anyway.

I wear shade 100: Ivory and that's a really good colour match for me which is great and not always easy to find in the drugstore. It also has SPF 20 to protect you from them rays. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this foundation, I think it's great and I think it's even better that it doesn't break the bank at only £7.99.

(Bought from Boots in the UK. It only comes in 6 shades so might not be a great match for everyone)
